The Big Mistake Most First-Time Home buyers Make That Costs Them The American Dream
Dated: December 3 2019
Hello Weslaco Neighbors,
As we approach the end of 2019, I am forced to remember the incredible journey this year has been. Today, marks exactly 365 days that my license was reactivated. I’ve had it active on and off since 2008 and this time I wanted to do things right. I researched which office would best suit me and although I initially joined a great team, I made a difficult decision halfway through the year jumping over to eXp. Technology is improving ever so fast and it only going to keep speeding up. It goes to show you must always plan for the future but remain flexible to adapt and overcome hurdles.
These were my big moments of 2019.
Reactivated license in - December of 2018 (I am counting this because this laid the foundation for 2019)
completed first transaction since licensed was reactivated - March 2019.
Changed office to eXp Realty - April 2019
Listed and Sold my first home and sold within 14 Days - June 2019
Registered te PICASSO group Brokered by eXp - June 2019
Closed on the largest transaction to date at $349,000 after only 30 days of being on the market (something a few other Realtors tried but couldn't accomplish- September 2019
Re-Started my real estate investment company - October 2019
A destination is the result of one decision made on top of another decision on top of another decision and this creates a sense of direction leading you to your ultimate destination.
This is true for my own story as well as many clients who bought their first home this year. Cheers to them. I’m reminded of all the first-time home buyers helped this year such as Mrs. Flores who bought her first home on her own as an empty nester, Miss. Reyes who proudly served her country, Mr. Escobar who spends 80% of the year working out of town to provide a roof for his family, and Mr. and Mrs. Gonzalez who worked so hard since the beginning of the year to finally close on their first home in October, they made so many sacrifices and worked so hard to accomplish their dream. And, for every one I mentioned there are 3 more stories that may or may never be heard (who knows maybe I will showcase them in this blog in the near future).
The biggest mistake most first-time homebuyers make is not taking action to meet your goals. An action can easily be described as asking questions, searching online, or hiring a Realtor (remember that the buyer’s advantage is that buyer representation fees are paid from the seller’s proceeds. You pay nothing to be represented.)
As for myself, real estate has always been a passion, a dream, a goal. The ether can only fight against so for so long until it finally gives up and says, “he/she will never give up and I might as well give him what he has fought so hard for.”
The month of December will be one to remember as we begin the renovation of a couple of homes in our community of Weslaco. As a newly accepted member of the Beautify Weslaco Committee and a Realtor my values are to improve the the pride of homeownership and so these projects help me do that. Without these renovations, these homes may turn into eye sores for our community. I invite you to take a sneak peek at what will be coming soon.
Here is to making 2020 the best year, yet. Please, leave a comment, share and like.
